In the March 2022 quarter compared to the December 2021 quarter:
- Total registered Births recorded for this quarter was 67. This averages to six births per week showing a decrease of 31.4 percent.
- Total Deaths stood at 28. Increasing by 21.7 percent.
- Total Marriages were 45. Of these marriages 47 percent were Cook Island Residents and 53 per cent were Non-residents.

From June year 2020 to June year 2021
- Cook Islands Total Population estimates stood at 16,300. Decreasing by 1.1 per cent (200 people)
- Resident Population was estimated at 17,200 showing a decrease of 3.9 per cent (700 people)
The biggest factor that affected the population estimate in the year 2020 and 2021, was due to closure of overseas boarders to people entering the country and to help stop the mounting threat or spread of the pandemic COVID-19.
