In the March 2021 quarter compared with the December 2020 quarter:
- Cook Islands Total population estimates stood at 17,800. This is 800 people less when compared to December quarter 2020.
- Resident Population estimates stood at 17,500, decreasing by 3.3% when compared to previous quarter.
- There were 56 live births registered with 29 births being females and 27 were males.
- Deaths increased by 25.0%
- Crude birth rates dropped from 3.3 in December quarter 2020 to 3.2 in March quarter 2021. Crude death rates rose from 1.8 to 2.3 in March quarter 2021.
- Marriages decreased by 38.9% (11 marriages) in the March quarter 2021.
