Visitor arrivals decreased by 5.9 percent compared to July 2025. Peak months are typically May to October, which aligns with Southern Hemisphere winter and potential holiday travel.

The majority of visitor arrivals came from New Zealand with 67.8 percent, followed by Australia with 21.7 percent, Europe 4.8 percent, and USA 3.0 percent.

In August 2025, a total of 1,427 residents left the country. Of the departing residents 15years and over 48.3 percent left for vacation/holiday, 9.6 percent for Medical and  for Business/Meetings, while the remaining 32.5 percent had other reasons for departing from the Cook Islands.
